DESCRIPTION PSMQ On-line Stiffness measure
The PSM-Q is a contacting, rolling wheel measurement designed for use online in hostile paper machine environments.
The fast ultrasonic wave propagation times allow machine speeds up to 2000 m/min without reduction of measurement sensitivity.
The sensor uses proprietary methods to remove contact noise and general machine noise from the measurement.
The contacting wheel surfaces mean that the wheels are continuously cleaned and available for measurement.
The measurement provides MD TSI, CD TSI and MD/CD TSI ratio derived from the propagated ultrasonic waves and captured using proprietary signal capture methods. It reports trends and profiles for these measured variables and, with the software module paperForm allows prediction of common strength properties like ring crush, SCT and concora.
The PSM-Q system displays the latest property measurement updating trends every 2 seconds, allowing paper machine operators to identify trends and take timely action.
